Paragliding–The Becoming Popular Sport of Northern Chitral

Booni, northern Chitral, is seen to have offered the greatest opportunity for national and international paragliders. The region is very wide with ideal launching spaces high above on the ridges of the Hindu Kush with equally comfortable landing premises in the down valleys, which have been appreciated by the international paragliders. The sport can be an important element of fascination for both national and international visitors. It can undoubtedly be the biggest booster of tourism industry in the Hindu Kush region.

In recent years, paragliding has also gained popularity amongst the youngsters of the Booni village, where 5 young pilots have managed to jump from quite a high launching point. The villagers gather and enjoy their sons flying with the wing against the clear sky.  Besides, the 5 newly trained pilots, the sport is also becoming popular amongst the general public.

The region offers great opportunities for the new learners and the only lesson for the new entrant is that there should be constant struggle and work in the right direction that could ultimately dawn the reality and substance of paragliding on you. What you learn yourself is everlasting and so is true about the young paragliders of northern Chitral.
