Jammu, February 25(Scoop News) – The young and budding Soldier was born on 14 June 1988. He joined the elite Special Forces on 18 March 2007. Paratrooper Imtiyaz Ahmad Thokar always wanted to join the Army. He studied in a small village school in Marloo, Zawoora in District Shupiyan and dreamt of doing great deeds for his nation.
On the fateful day, this brave soldier, alongwith his elite outfit had cordoned few target houses in village Chinkipura, Sopore. During the initial exchange of fire with the terrorists, this young son of soil, with utter disregard to his personal safety, engaged four terrorists, inflicting casualties on them. In the exchange of fire he wounded a terrorist and was also hit by bullets and grievously injured. Disregarding his injures he continued to fire from his weapon and succumbed to his wounds.
As a true son of soil he did not allow any collateral damage to civilians whom he rescued from the cross fire and extricated from the combat zone.
The brave paratrooper lived up to his motto Balidan or Sacrifice by defending his countrymen and Nation with the ultimate sacrifice. He leaves behind a grieving brother, father and mother Smt Slam Bee at his village Zawoora in Shopiyan in Kashmir.
