The case of a missing woman that has been missing 16 years is reopened after police received new information of a man that boasted in his writings for being responsible for around 40 victims.

According to KOBTV Albuquerque authorities are joining the FBI in a search on Tuesday around Elephant Butte Reservoir and nearby caves in southern Mexico in belief that David Parker Ray may have buried some of his victims. Ray wrote detailed accounts of sexual torture and burials. Police have long believed that Ray, who died in prison while serving a life sentence in 2002, buried some of the 40 victims he claimed to have tortured. According to Sacramento Bee, FBI spokesman Frank Fisher, the authorities expect to return to some "places of interest" in the near future. ABQJournal reports Ray was arrested in 1999 after a woman with no clothing on and wearing nothing but a dog collar escaped from his home. No bodies has been found.
