Pashmina Wool & Craft will enhance life standard of women folk of the area District Naib Nazim Sultan Shah.
CHITRAL: Pashmina Wool & Craft center Susum Karimabad will enhance life standard of women folk of the area by giving them more opportunities to gain their livelihood said Sultan Shah district Naib Nazim. Canadian lady Miss Nargis Jamal president Women development international inaugurated the center who was chief guest on the occasion. District Naib Nazim Sultan Shah who is the main personality for running of this center said while talking to this scribe that the center was opened with an aim to train and improve skill capacity of local women for providing them job opportunities and chance to gain their livelihood with a honorable way at their door step. He said that some 62 women folk of the area are getting different training of handicrafts, carpet making, sewing cloths, zigzag as well as wool and local hand made carpet. Trainee women are getting training by paying only rupees 200 per month as admission fee. Sardar Ahmad Khan and Khadija Sardar are the main trainer and designer during training period of the center. Female students are getting training of hand embroidery, machine embroidery, wool hand knitting, machine wool knitting, Crotia knitting, dress cutting stitching, designing, Chitrali patti work for weskit, carpet making and other different skill of handicrafts.
As the area is totally remote and backward one and there is no job opportunity for women folk or any other chance to gain their livelihood that is why they were very frustrated. But these centers survived their spirits and now are learning different skills. Saleem Khan, Mashroof Bibi and Bibi Taj are managing for providing different raw material and other items required during their training. Sultan Shah said that this is the initiative and first step hence the work of these training would be expanded to other far flung areas of this valley to provide more opportunities to women folk to come forward by getting different skill and to play vital role shoulder by shoulder with men in development of the country. Noroz Begum a trainee woman said that she is illiterate and was wasting her time at her home who was not accepting by her family members earlier but now she has learned sewing of cloth and charging rupees 120 for a suit and their family members also respecting her.
