Paula Abdul announced on her Twitter account Monday night that she has landed her next television appearance – as host of VH1’s reincarnated ‘Divas’ program. The show is scheduled to feature newer divas such as Miley Cyrus, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis and Adele, taped at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and set to air on September 17. In past seasons, the show has showcased the talents of Whitney Houston, Celine Dion and Mary J. Blige, receiving good ratings and reviews overall.
After leaving ‘American Idol’ after eight seasons as a judge in a salary dispute, the career plans of Paula Abdul were uncertain at best before landing the ‘Divas" spot. Abdul was rumored to have been the front runner for a recurring role as a daffy temp on the hit show ‘Ugly Betty’ but lost out to veteran comedy actress Kristen Johnston, after yet another reported disagreement over money.
