Jammu, February 10, (Scoop News)-Terming Omar Abdullah led government as symbol of scam, crime and corruption, legislators of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today staged demonstration against failure of the State Government on all fronts.
To draw attention of the Governor towards prevailing anarchy and mess in the State, PDP legislators under the leadership of Mehbooba Mufti raised issues relating to the common masses during the Governor’s Address on the day one of the budget session. PDP legislators demanded arrest of former Minister of State for Health Shabir Ahmed Khan because non-bailable warrant has already issued against him in molestation case. PDP legislators also highlighted misdeeds of the present regime headed by Omar Abdullah.
Later talking to the media persons outside the Assembly, Ms Mehbooba Mufti said that the assembly session of this govt started with the unfortunate and gruesome Shopian incident of rape and murder. She further regretted that the last budget session of present regime is marked with the incident of molestation of a female by a minister of the govt. “Shabir Khan is a protected person. How he has been disappeared?”, she asked and charged the government with shielding the former minister who has been facing serious charges.
Rating performance of present regime has negative and destructive, Ms Mufti said that scams, scandals and killings are noticeable achievements of Omar Abdullah government. She said that this government has failed to come up to the expectations of all sections of the society.
Ms Mufti said that government has failed to fulfil any of the promises which were made with the people from time to time. “Youth of the State are the worst victim of the policies being propagated by this government and the policies of the government are fuelling alienation among younger generation”, she said and remarked that backdoor appointments have been going on unabated at the cost of deserving youth. PDP leader further instead of providing employment opportunities to the people, this regime has been snatching jobs from the youth.
She said that corruption has been legalized in the State as from top to bottom everyone indulged into corrupt practices. She said that “achievements” of this regime included mysterious killing of Haji Yosuf, Forest land scam, JKCA scandal as well as the latest scam in Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE). “Legalization corruption is the only noticeable achievement of this government as even the highest office of Chief Minister is also scan after mysterious killing of Haji Yousuf”, she said and pointed out that recently exposed BOPEE scam scandal is the latest example in the list of series of scams during the last five years of this government. Earlier transfer industry flourished in J&K, now admission industry is also flourishing in the State.
She regretted that mis-governance and maladministration of Omar Abdullah government has shattered peoples’ faith in the democratic institutions and failure of this government has disastrous impact on all aspects of life.
