PDP expresses grave concern over bloodbath in Kashmir

Srinagar, September 18 (Scoop News) –   Expressing grave concern over continuing bloodbath in Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti today said that killings innocent people every day has become norm of the present dispensation headed by Omar Abdullah.

She said that uncontrolled killing of innocent people at the hands of the security forces has exposed that National Conference led government has become completely immune to the atrocities it has been inflicting on the innocent people.

Condemning brutal killing of three more innocents in Anantnag and Pattan areas today by the security forces, PDP chief said that number of deaths of the innocent persons during the last three months has crossed 100 mark but the State Government has not learn any lesson so far. She regretted that instead of healing wounds of the people, the State Government headed by Omar Abdullah has intensified the policy of brutal use of force and this was evident from the incidents held during the last one week where innocent civilians were killed by security forces.

Ms Mufti said that during the last three months 100 people have lost their lives in the firing by the security forces because the security forces have let lose a reign of terror with the support and patronage of present dispensation. The Chief Minister, she said, who is the head of unified command has lost his credibility to make security forces accountable and restrain and no control over the continuous civilian deaths in the Valley.

PDP chief further regretted that Omar Abdullah led regime has been watching bloodbath in Kashmir Valley as mute spectator.

“The Chief Minister has lost moral authorities to govern because of killing of innocent people has become routine affairs since Omar Abdullah has taken over as Chief Minister of the State’, she said.

“Today’s incident is another glaring example of the human right violation in the State and insensitivity of the ruling National Conference towards human lives and human values:”, she added.
