Jammu, October 7 (Scoop News) –Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that removal of Omar Abdullah for the post of Chief Minister is must to ensure fair probe into the custodial killing of National Conference worker Haji Mohammad Yosuf who was eliminated by the Omar Abdullah led regime to hide its misdeeds and prevailing corruption in the government as well as in the ruling NC.
Addressing an impressive rally that was organised here today to protest the stinking levels of corruption in ruling National Conference and the government under that same party, PDP leaders strongly demanding sacking of Chief Minister because he has been brazenly trying to hide the truth in Mohammad Yousuf death by mis-using official machinery.
PDP leaders said that Omar Abdullah, whose office was involved in this gruesome incident, never allow a fair probe into his misdeeds as long as he holds the Chief Minister’s chair. The government has been trying to pressurize family members of the deceased as well as eyewitnesses. They said that government was in a disperate mood to hide the truth because death of Haji Mohammad Yousuf had only removed the lid from what was being kept away from public focus but also exposed the present regime. They said that PDP has been repeatedly pointing out that this regime has legalized corruption and this episode has authenticated PDP’s allegations.
Demanding immediate sacking of Omar Abdullah, PDP leaders said that government would never allow the truth of come because of the involvement of Chief Minister in this case. They further pointed out that official machinary has been working over time to hush up the matter. They narrated the example of fake postmortem report which was prepared by the government but later rejected by the family members of the deceased NC worker.

The massive rally comprising hundreds of party workers and supporters was taken out from the party office at Gandhi Nagar and marched through different areas before it was intercepted by police which used brute force to disperse it. Even though the rally was completely peaceful and demanded steeping down of Omar Abdullah to facilitate a fair probe into the death of Mohammad Yosuf, police resorted to unprovoked lathicharge on peaceful workers. Over 20 workers received injuries in the lathcharge.
