Addressing a press conference here today A K Sawhney said that “the question arises- did I resign first or I resigned after expulsion? the entire media can testify to that after my news of resignation spread like wildfire, the PDP media managers issued an afterthought press statement through a "hired" press reporter working in a national daily, stating that Sawhney had been expelled”.
Quoting the reasons the press note he said that since there was a donkey brought in one of the PDP’s rallies on 26.4.2010, and it carried Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s photo with some "vulgar" slogans, therefore the party president Ms Mehbooba Mufti had directed an inquiry into the issue, which indicted Sawhney on the day he resigned.
Sawhney while reacting to this press note of the PDP through their hired reporter said that the same was an afterthought attempt by these frustrated people, who have ruined the PDP.
Sawhney said that there was no inquiry on the "Donkey issue" against him, neither has he been given any show cause Notice or any charge sheet by any inquiry officer. So much so he said that he does not know anything about the inquiry, or who the inquiry officer was? Do they know how an inquiry is conducted; I had to be given a chance to rebut the same and termed these donkey acts as cheap and after- thought.
He took a dig at the Donkey politics of these frustrated bunch of PDP leaders and said that he was surprised to know about the donkey inquiry if any. He said that it amused him, that the PDP was holding an inquiry as to who brought a donkey with NC’s leader and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s photos.
He said more amusing was that you ruin that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s character in Assembly by alleging his involvement and his father Dr Farooq Abdullah’s involvement in Sex Scandal and PDP MLAs had to come out red faced with embarrassment, was that not vulgar or cheap?
Then the 3 Idiots controversy where the Abdullah dynasty, Sheikh Abdullah, Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah were depicted as 3 monkeys and 3 Idiots, even that was forwarded by the party president Ms Mehbooba Mufti… even that was not deplorable but a donkey with photo of Chief Minister and written on it "Main ek Nojawaan Gahda hu" was vulgar, cheap and anti PDP, he questioned.
Sawhney questioned that the some PDP MLA threw chairs on the floor of the house, broke the furniture, broke apart the micro phones of the House and injured the Assembly Staff, was that not cheap? For the said damage the Speaker issued a recovery notice of Rs 5.5. lakhs to one of the PDP MLAs breaking the microphones , why the part did not conduct any inquiry there, which today claims of having been offence by a donkey.
So much so that the PDP President in one of the Assembly proceedings attacked the Speaker, was that not cheap? He questioned. How can a party with such history of hooliganism be offended by a poor donkey, and it had to be something more than a donkey he said while taking a dig at the party leader’s petty allegations against him.
He said that such false, frivolous allegations just depict the low level to which the PDP leaders have stooped; just to show that Sawhney has not resigned we have expelled him.
Sawhney hoped that some good sense prevails over these PDP leaders, so that think of betterment of the people of the state, rather than their own donkey politics.
