Banihal, July 19, (Scoop News)-Senior National Conference leader ajjad Shaheenon Saturday expressed optimism about his party registering a massive win in the ensuing elections and bestowing a stable government to Jammu and Kashmir.
“National Conference has played a frontal role in the political evolution of the state and strengthening democracy”, he said while addressing a function organised in connection with joining of dozens of youth into the party fold.
The new entrants pledged to strengthen National Conference and assisting it in routing corruption in the State.
Mr Shaheen castigated Peoples Democratic Party for becoming a safe haven for tainted bureaucrats who had caused immense loss to state exchequer during their service career. He referred to a retired bureaucrat who in his capacity as Director Rural Development remained involved in electrification scam. Instead of being punished for his acts of omissions and commissions, the PDP rewarded him by a seat in Legislative Council. Similarly, he said, another bureaucrat was involved in Gulmarg land scam, who figures in the list of candidates of PDP.
Mr Shaheen said that a tainted bureaucrat involved in fake PRC scandal also figures in the list of candidates issued by PDP notwithstanding an FIR registered against him with the Crime Branch.
He said National Conference will fight tooth and nail all those elements who have indulged in unscrupulous activities and free the politics from corruption.
The National Conference leaders greeted the new entrants profusely and hoped they will further strengthen the party at grass roots level.
