PDP waiting in wings to secretly align with BJP: Sadhotra, Rana

NC LEADERS ADDRESSING A PUBLIC MEETING

Mendhar, November 17( Scoop News)- Observing that Peoples Democratic Party has ultimately shed its pretensions of being a Kashmir centric entity, Minister for Planning and Development Mr Ajay Kumar Sadhotra and Provincial President National Conference Mr Devender Singh Rana on Sunday said that lust for power has made it jump into the lap of Sangh Parivar.
“It is only a question of time when PDP will formally blend with its originators in New Delhi”, the senior National Conference leaders declared while addressing a workers rally, held at Mendhar to felicitate Mr Javed Rana on his election as Deputy Chairman Legislative Council.
They said that hobnobbing has already begun with a former intelligence bureu chief facilitating the formal alliance.
Mr Sadhotra said that there was never ever any doubt about BJP and PDP being two faces of the same coin, as both these outfits clandestinely supplemented each other on various issues having far reaching consequences for the special and unique status of Jammu and Kashmir. He referred to the attempts of disruption engineered in 2008 with one party taking command in the Jammu region and the other in Kashmir province with a view to bring the people face to face on regional and communal lines.
“BJP has been crying hoarse over religion being in danger while PDP has been shedding crocodile tears over the situation in Kashmir”, he said and described these attempts as hoodwinking the public opinion to derive political benefits. He said the people have been sagacious enough to read between the lines and keep bay the communal and divisive forces.
Lambasting BJP for inciting passions and fomenting hatred between the communities, the Provincial President said that Jammu and Kashmir will not allow itself to be a breeding ground for Modi type politics. “National Conference will fight tooth and nail the fascist and reactionary forces which are desperately trying to make inroads in the land of saints and sages”, he asserted while saying that the state will prove as waterloo for communal forces, who have been venturing to vitiate the atmosphere.
Mr Rana said that after failing to woo Congress for an alliance, aimed at weakening the National Conference, Mufti Mohammed Sayeed re-established his old contacts to connections with the BJP, which has been the sponsor of PDP. He said NC-Congress alliance has frustrated the PDP and forced it openly alight with BJP. The PDP, he said has not reconciled with the snub it got from the Congress High Command.
“They are destined to meet stiff resistance from the people, who believe in harmony, amity and brotherhood”, he maintained while saying that Jammu and Kashmir has remained a beckon light for those believing in homogenity and co-existence of different segments of the society.
The Provincial President recalled the attempts made by peace inimical elements to divide the society from time to time and said the unity demonstrated by the people made them lick the dust.
Mr Rana said that emergence of fascism is a big concern for secular and democratic forces, who have to tread the path carefully to alienate these by maintaining unity and tranquility. “India is a vast nation, a world within a world, which cannot be run by pursuing a myopic agenda”, he said, adding that the way the pointman of Bharatya Janata Party Mr Narendra Modi wants to drive the nation is fraught with disaster”.
The Provincial President cautioned the people in general and National Conference workers in particular against divisive forces and urged them to work for cementing the bonds of brotherhood between various communities. He asked the party workers to prepare for big challenge in 2014 and generate awareness among the people about the programmes and policies implemented by Omar Abdullah led government for their economic emancipation and overall development.
Mr Rana reminded the workers about the glorious traditions of amity, peaceful co-existence and tolerance and said the mission of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammed is being carried forward with renewed vigour by Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. . He said this legacy which will remain a guiding spirit for the party to steer the state to peace and progress.
Deputy Chairman Legislative Council Mr Javed Rana also addressed the gathering.
Prominent among those present included Ch. Talib Hussain,ex-MP, Bashir Ahmad Wani, District President Rajouri and others.
