Jammu, March 29 (Scoop News) – Expressing concern over vindictive attitude of the ruling National Conference, the main opposition party Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today announced not to participate in the rest of the budget session in the J&K Legislative Assembly.
This was announced by former Finance Minister and senior party leader Muzaffar Hussain Beigh while interacting with media persons after staging a walk out from the House. “What is the fun of attending proceeding of the Legislative Assembly when Chief Minister who is leader of the House is more concerned about playing games on his cell phones instead of taking interest in the proceedings”, Beigh regretted.

“Due to his arrogance the Chief Minister has been undermining the authority of the legislature and diluting the importance of elected representatives of the people in the affairs of the Assembly”, he said and pointed out that during the last few days PDP members have been raising the issue of threat to the life of party leader of Pulwama whose security has been withdrawn on the direction of the Chief Minister. “Instead of taking our issues seriously government has been adopting casual approach”, he said.
“Due to casual approach being adopted by the government on sensitive issues of the State we have decided that our party would not attend rest of the budget session”, he said and added that government has been indulged in vindictive dealing even in important issues which pertaining to the lives of the political adversaries.
Charging the ruling National Conference with behaving in vindictive manner, Beigh said that the government has been adopting pick and choose policy in accelerating developmental activities and sanctioning funds.
“It has become policy of the government to discriminate with some specific areas for political areas”, he said.
Charging government with adopting discriminatory policies in releasing additionalties, he said that instead of working in democratic manner, attitude of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is totally autocratic.
“What to say of releasing additionalties for the development of the constituencies represented by opposition especially by the PDP, the Chief Minister even threatened not to release funds to areas represented by PDP MLAs”, he said.
Earlier PDP members staged a walkout from the House on the issue of withdrawing security to the opposition leaders and vindictive policy of the ruling National Conference.
