Proddatur (GR-TYP-BIN): Pragatisheela Prajaswamya Vidyarthi Sangam (Progressive Democratic Students Union) submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Tahasildar Mr. Chandrasekhar Reddy on June 30, seeking the closure of liquor and wine shops near Schools, Hostels and Temples.
On the occasion, PDSU urged to close the wine shops near Girls’ Hostel in Sanjeev Nagar, Arts College Road and Peddasetti Palli.
PDSU leaders Obulesu, Venkatesh, Pawan, Rayudu and others were present.
Recently some women organizations also have sought the closure of liquor shops in the vicinity of religious places, schools, hostels and colleges. They said that situating the wine shops near them will not only hurt religious emotions but also drive the youth towards alcohol consumption.
