People advised to move safer areas,Control room setup

Srinagar, September 04, (Scoop News)- Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir has asked the people living along the banks of river Jehlum and embankments of different water bodies to move to safer areas immediately in view of the flood situation.

A Control room has been setup at the Police Control Room (PCR) Batamalloo, Srinagar to monitor the flood situation that has arisen due to incessant rains in the Valley for past few days.
The officers of all Engineering, Health, Housing and other concerned departments have been stationed in the control room. They are monitoring the situation and coordinating to prevent any loss of human lives and property besides, extending help to the people wherever required.
Accordingly, under emergency circumstances, the people are informed to contact on Phone Nos. 0194-2474040, 2452138, 2455883 for any kind of help from the Government.
Earlier, this morning, an advisory has been issued asking the people living on the banks of rivers and other water bodies, to move to safer places until the rain stops and water level comes down.

Incessant rains: Control room established at Ramban
In view of the incessant rains district administration Ramban has established a control room at district headquarters with telephone no. 01998266701 and Toll free No. 18001807069.
All the Sub Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars have been ordered not to leave their headquarters
