People and political statements

It has become a common phenomenon for most of our political parties, leaders, VIPs and many other personalities to use the word ‘people’ at random as and when they like to make any statement, demand or comment on political matters.

We wonder and fail to understand why they always try to drag, involve or entangle ‘people’ along with their respective benefits and interests.

We state below some news with our own views and request our political parties, leaders and VIPs to be bold and straight forward enough to come forward with their respective plans, programmes and policies without using/misusing the word ‘people’s at random.

‘People won’t accept any farcical election’ Khondkar Delwar Hussain. BNP Secretary General.

Why not “BNP won’t accept any farcical election?”

“Because of the delimitation and present emergency there is a doubt in people’s mind about the December 18 election”– Awami League Acting General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam.

Why not “Because of the delimitation and present emergency there is a doubt in Awami League’s mind about the December 18 election?”

“People expect that the anti corruption drive of the government should not be impeded in the process of compromise,” Dr Kamal Hossain said in a Gano Forum Presidium meeting.

Why not “Gano Forum expects that the anti-corruption drive of the govt. should not be impeded in the process of compromise?”

The activities of the Election Commission failed to earn credibility to convince the people that election to the next parliament would be held in December 18 as announced, said Advocate ABM Nazrul Islam.

Why not “The activities of the Election Commission failed to earn the credibility of Advocate Nazrul Islam that election to the next parliament would be held in December 18 as announced?”

All concerned, including our caretaker government, should always be clean and crystal clear, sincere and honest in their statements and promises in the interest of a good atmosphere and political stability in the country to do away with confusion and distrust among our people, political leaders and caretaker government.
