Jammu, April, 21 (Scoop News) – The 3rd phase of Panchayat Elections-2011 concluded peacefully with large number of people participating in electing 246 Sarpanches and 1868 Panches in 10 CD blocks of the state.
The Election were held on 27 Sarpanch Constituencies and 225 Panch Constituencies in CD block Sogam district Kupwara, 28 Sarpanch and 245 Panch Constituencies in CD block Boniyar district Baramulla, 20 Sarpanch and 155 Panch Constituencies in CD block Ganderbal district Ganderbal, 40 Sarpanch and 299 Panch Constituencies in CD Block Chadoora district Budgam, 33 Sarpanch and 216 Panch Constituencies in CD Block Kulgam district Kulgam, 24 Sarpanch and 172 Panch Constituencies in CD Block Ramnagar district Udhampur, 20 Sarpanch and 156 Panch Constituencies in CD Block Dudu-Basantgarh district Udhampur, 15 Sarpanch and 108 Panch Constituencies in CD Block Purmandal district Samba, 17 Sarpanch and 122 Panch Constituencies in CD Block Ghagwal district Samba and 22 Sarpanch and 170 Panch Constituencies in CD Block Satwari district Jammu.
The poll percentage remained 86.50 % in Sogam, 86.00 % in Baramulla, 75.00% in Ganderbal, 82.00% in Chadoora, 69.60% in Kulgam, 72.69 % in Ramnagar, 78.24% in Dudu-Basantgarh, 82.00 % in Purmandal, 80 % in Ghagwal and 80 % in Satwari with a total percentage of 78.95% in all these blocks.
