The degree of perfection of your training will depend on your tenacity, will power, determination and belief. Belief is also necessary because unless you firmly believe in our capacity and the dog’s ability, unless you persevere, and go on and on with your training in the face of every failure, you will never succeed. So, remove all doubts from your mind about failure. If at every failure, you get discouraged and run to an expert or another for advice and assistance, you will never be a pet –owner in the real sense of the term.
Therefore, be prepared to face your problems yourself. Find out your own solutions. The expert, even if you seek his advice, will not be able to suggest to you the correct measure off hand, because he has to study your case thoroughly before giving his opinion.
He has to know for himself, from your narration as well as from his experimentation, how much you have already spoilt him (dog). He has to know through observations as to how far he (dog) has gone in becoming undisciplined. If he has gone much far, it is needless to say, that he will require longer time for disciplinary training.
Instead, you can tackle your own pet your self. Just think you have brought him up from the puppy stage. How lovable he was and how attached you were to him. He has now grown up, if he has not been trained; it is a blame that you have to take on yourself. But, it is never too late to med. Learn more about dog-training. Read, discuss, think, observe, and then go about it with all determination. Do not hesitate, do not falter. It is your beloved dog gone astray, ad it is you who is to bring him on the right track.
What you need essentially is some amount of courage, at least to counter the confrontation of your dog.
Finally, even if your dog performs well and obeys your commands. You have to keep your dog in shape. So practice your commands over and over again. If it is not always possible to make the dog practice all the commands in a day, these should be nevertheless practiced regularly.
