Pesco exercising 21 hours to 48 hours longest load shedding

 

CHITRAL: Longest black through (load shedding) of 21 hours was observed in Singor and Shahmiran villages of Chitral town. Pesco Chitral removed links of transformer of Singor and Shahmirandeh villages at 5.PM and disconnected power supply to this area and re-linked it at 2.PM next day. When Pesco Chitral was contacted to know reason of such longest load shedding they pretext that District Coordination Officer Chitral has directed them that there is some emergency at District headquarters hospital Chitral and asked them for  power supply to hospital by disconnecting other areas. But when this scribe visited hospital and meet deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Yakhya Khan to know the factual position DMS told that there is no emergency in hospital and at present there is no power supply here and the hospital also deprive from electricity. After that Assistant Resident Engineer of micro hydro power house Singor disclosed that there is no shortage of power and their hydro power house generate and creating 800 KV power but Pesco operation staff disconnecting power supply to some areas. It was revealed that actually there were some very important guests (officers) in Jang Bazar and Pesco Chitral disconnected these areas and restored power supply for officers. It is worth to mention here that Chitral market and Jang bazaar  benefiting by Pesco from national grid station and from local power house but residents of Singor who were badly affected during construction of this power house and they faced heavy loss due to decreasing their irrigation water for water channel of power house but they are depriving from electricity of this local power house. This discrimination was also bring into notice of chief executive Pesco, Director public relation, chief engineer operation with the request to take stern action against Pesco Chitral staff. Residents of Singor and Shahmirandeh demanded from high ups of Wapda and Pesco to issue directive to Pesco Chitral staff to not exercise 24 to 48 hours illegal load shedding and demanded for up-gradation of local power house as well as establishment of more power house because Chitral have capacity of 4500 megawatt power generation.  Local consumers also demanded from high ups of Pesco to discourage discrimination in power supply because there is no load shedding in officer colony Danin but some areas facing longest load shedding.
