Pesco restored electricity supply after 12 dadys

Power supply restored after 12 days suspending.

CHITRAL:  power supply to Chitral from national Grid Station Dir restored after 12 days suspension. Main transmission line was repaired. Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan played vital role in restoration of electricity supply. According to detail supply of electricity was suspended after heavy snowfall on 7th January 2008. as the main transmission line have been carried over the peak of Lawari pass having the height of 10500 feet from sea level. Some 10 poles have been broken as well as cable and its accessories were also out of order due to tremendous rain and heavy snowfall. Hence Grid Station Operation staff worked hard day and night and restored power supply after 12 days. They have no official vehicle so Tehsil Nazim Chitral Sartaj Ahmad Khan offered his vehicle and arranged to bear their meal charges. They repaired poles and cable at freezing temperature of Lawari Pass and restored electricity supply. Some 10 Poles have been broken at Lawari top along with its accessories. GSO Staff faced great hardships and worked in chilly freezing season of Lawari pass and after continues hardworking power supply was restored to chitral. Tehsil Nazim Chitral announced of rupees 5000 as cash award and he demanded from Chairman Wapda for provision of a four wheel vehicle to GSO Staff at Drosh. He also demanded to permanent services of daily wages staff and also to grant them special uniform to save them from cold weather of Lawari pass.

Besides it Chitral once again received fresh snow at early morning of Wednesday while temperature recorded according to Met office -6.0 ( Minus 6.00 Degree Centigrade) traffic at roads while movements in Bazar remain very less and people restrained in their houses. There is acute shortage of edible items, fresh vegetable, fruit ans Gas Cylinders in Chitral market as result dwellers of the district are facing great hardships.

 Meanwhile Niaz Ali sha General Secretary of Legal Aid Forum for Human Rights Chitral demanded from Federal Govt. to supply Gas cylinders to Chitral on subsidize rates via Afghanistan road to Chitral. He also demanded from Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chairman wapda for issuing a four wheel vehicle to GSO Staff so as to enable them to overcome their problems and restore electricity supply urgently.
