Dhaka, April 6: The Supreme Court adjourned hearing two petitions which removed Muhammad Yunus of Grameen Bank.
The full bench of the Division of the Court of Appeal, presided over by Chief Justice ABM Khairul Haque, on Wednesday suspended the hearing until a week after the reopening of the court which falls on May 2.
The vacation runs from April 8 to April 23, after a week because it is a holiday in May (May 1), which means that the hearing should be held on May 2
One of the petitions were filed by Yunus calls directed right to withdraw its order confirming the decision of the High Court to support its dismissal of the micro credit institution.
Nine members of the other bank filed the complaint challenging the legality of the expulsion of the Nobel Prize as its CEO.
When the court met on Wednesday morning, wanted to hear Kamal Hossain, the lawyer of Dr. Yunus if he would be able to complete his argument within one day as one of the judges will be at leave on Thursday, the last day in court is before vacation.
As Attorney General Mahbubey Alam and the Bangladesh Bank Tawfiq Newaz lawyer asked the court to start the hearing, however the court again asked Kamal if it was possible to complete the hearing in one day.
Kamal replied in the negative.
The court then adjourned hearing of the petitions.
Kamal told reporters that the highest court of appeal will hear the complaints of a week after its reopening.
