Indefinite strike by oil PSU’s have left the whole country at an almost stand-still. The petrol strike is in Day-3 and no successful negotiations has been done yet. Many petrol pumps across the country are running dry, in some places almost 80% or more pumps are running dry. The case is about to get worse if the strike is not called off now. The reserves of Diesel are only enough to last for 14 days in the country.
However, Government has decied to take tough steps. "All resources of government, including the Army, will be pressed into action to ensure smooth supply of fuel in the nation. OSOA cannot hold country to ransom,” Petroleum Secretary RS Pandey said in New Delhi on Friday. Earlier, talks between Oil Sector Officers’ Association (OSOA) and Petroleum Minister Murli Deora on Thursday failed.
