Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong, 23, is the only suspect in a killing in which a baby was forcefully removed from its murdered mother’s womb. Police found the body of 27 year-old Araceli Camacho Gomez of Pasco, WA in Kennewick’s Columbia Park early Saturday morning.
Police believe Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong stabbed Gomez multiple times in the chest before removing her almost fully matured baby from her womb and trying to pass off the child as her own. The baby boy is now in critical condition and receiving care at a Spokane hospital.
Upon her arrest, police found bloody gloves, boxcutters and baby clothes in Phiengchai Sisouvanh Synhavong’s purse. Sisouvanh Synhavong is currently being held in custody without bail and will appear in court on Wednesday.
