Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of the International Philippine School in Al-Khobar (IPSA) holds a ceremony of the 2nd IPSA Sports Fest at the IPSA Multi-Purpose Hall in Alkhobar, with various presentations to grace the sport fest opening and to blend parents and teachers relationship to achieving momentum in the school year round.
Spectators crowded the hall to witness the opening ceremony, which was, according to parents and teachers interviewed, a successful beginning of the event.
Team players adorned the ceremony with their colorful uniforms – white, green, blue, maroon, red and yellow, which contributed to the seemingly exciting battle of these sports enthusiasts and fully equipped players to vie for in the basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton and chess tournaments.
The inter-color teams showcased each entertaining talent in singing, squad cheering and other intermission numbers that marked the opening ceremony.
“Showing each team member’s talent alone in the intermission seemed to be vying for an award.” “Ang gagaling nila!” (They are all talented) an amazed parent wowed during a rendition of a love song in Tagalog from the Orange Team.
This is the second time IPSA has organized such sport fest since inception in 1989, an exclusive activity participated by the school management, teachers, and parents, to boost morale of the PTA and enliven rapport between them.
“Such occasion promotes camaraderie, teamwork, oneness and unity – setting aside creed in faith and politics and giving further focus on enriching sportsmanship in our lives,” according to Lino Tolentino, a parent at IPSA.
“In fact, indeed, a way of unwinding dependents (especially housewives) in accustoming themselves to living in the Kingdom, instead of just hibernating at home,” Tolentino added.
Other surprise games are expected within the two-month sport fest duration as the tournament moves on, according to the organizer.
The inter-color teams will vie for trophies and medals, which will be acknowledged result late November.
