Philippines: Mayon Volcano watched as Typhoon Mirimae hits Islands ‘Lahar’ feared in Bicol region

 If a Typhoon with 100mph winds is not enough for stress levels to go sky high for people in the Philippines this all souls day weekend.

Mayon is a active volcano erupted on Wednesday, with a ash cloud and plume that rose over the mountain. Per the Government agency PHILVOCS the mountain is now stirring, adding fears of an eruption.

Mount Mayon in southeastern Luzon in the path of the Typhoons out eye rim it is centered to pass nearby by about 60 miles to the north of the Mountain. 

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology in a press statement Friday night reported the Mayon’s "lava dome has already formed in the crater of the Volcano.

In the statement it reported that, "Unstable rock on the crater rim is a imminent hazard should the typhoons rains come down hard on the area..

Volcanic debris and heavy rain often is a trigger for lahars, a type of mudflow from volcanic mountains. The flows have the consistency of wet cement and often bury anything its path.
