Cebu – Philippine National Bureau of Investigation Agents backed by a specail operations team acting on a tip up by a half a million peso reward ended the career of one of the alleged most notorious crime gangs in recent memory in the Philippines.
Known for its violent robberies and shoot-outs with police as well as special weapons tactics the gang has been involved in over 22 crimes most involving violent killings of the victims they robbered.
Agents of the NBI, a law enforcement agency patterned after the US FBI worked closely with its specail investigative unit to eliminate a gang leader that reports say was personally responsible for some of the most violent shootouts with Police.
Flores, was decalred dead on the spot after the shootout at a gang hideout in Cebu Province on Monday. The NBI raiding team prevented news crews from entering the area reports GMA Television while the operation was ongoing in the hideout as operatives searched for weapons and other gang members hiding in the small compound.
Law enforcement is still searching for as many as 80 other gang members. Flores was believed to be the mastermind of the group he is described as waiter who learned his trade after moving to Manila five years ago and working with other members of the gang.. .
