The Phoenix, a probe sent by NASA to find out the existence of life in the Red Planet, Mars, has sent back its first colour pictures that includes a beautiful pic of the Martian floor.
The images imply a perfect mission till now – perfect entry, descent unfurling of the solar panels… all according to plans. This is cause for huge relief as well as joy, considering that majority of previous attempts on Mars have been futile..
The Phoenix is equipped with a robotic arm, supposed to be 2.4m long. This robotic arm is to dig trenches and get to the ice beneath the floor you see in the pic. This robotic arm will collect samples for the scientific instruments which will test them and send back results.
NASA is going to release some more cool pics… so watch out for them. And lets hope we do find some cool Martian friends.
