Bangalore: Kevin Pietersen, the English skipper admitted the match was done by the Swashbuckling Indian opener, Virender Sehwag, who played the major role in Indian win.
Pietersen said that his team gave everything they had, Sehwag was the difference between two sides:” We were done in by India and Sehwag. We had a great game though and the boys gave all they had."
Speaking in the presentation after the match the captain of the England team said it was a great learning experience for his team, coming after beating South Africa in a 4-0 fashion in England.
"We beat South Africa and then we ran across a rampaging Indian team. They beat Australia in the Test series and then beat us. India is playing some good cricket at the moment."
He also said that England will want to go home with pride and wanted to win at least few games ahead: "We came here to win the series but we failed to do it. Now, we need to win a few games."
"We need to be competitive for the remaining three games and take some pride back."
