A single-engine airplane crashed into a vacation home on the coastal town of Gearhart, Oregon, hurting three and leaving three people still missing.
Sources say a small plane first hit a tree and then careened to a home at around 6:37 a.m. this morning. Shortly thereafter, there were a series of explosions that set the house and the one next door on fire. Gearhart, Oregon lies on the Pacific coast and is home to 1,100.
There were five children and one adult in the house that was struck by the plane. Two of the children and the adult were rushed to hospitals to receive treatment. The other three children are missing. There is no official word on the condition of the plane’s pilot and any passengers that might have been on the airplane.
Neighbors say the ground shook when the plane crashed into the house and that the series of explosions could be felt up to half a mile away.
