Free Distribution of plants 2016 under Billion tree forestation project held at Drosh.

CHITRAL: Billion forestation project of plantation drive kicked at Drosh Chitral some 45 KM from here. Lady Member Provincial Assembly Bibi Fouzia was chief guest on the occasion while Divisional Forest officer Chitral Saleem, Sub Divisional Forest officer Drosh Umari Nawaz, elites of the area were also present on the occasion.
A simple but prompt function was also held at Drosh Forest Rest house on account of plantation drive. Addressing to the function Lady MPA Bibi Fouzia said that government determined to plant billion of trees (plants) in KPK to overcome deforestation problem. DFO Chitral said that in this plan local community must be involved for ownership of these plants and trees to save them as well as to irrigate these plants.
Local people of the area thanked provincial government for kicking plantation drive of billion tree forestation which will be definitely play vital role of clean environment of the area. MPA Bibi Fouzia planted a sapling and kicked the campaign of billion tree forestation.
At last they also distributed free plants among the local people as well as people came from boundary areas. DFO Chitral stressed upon the people to must care of these sapling to success and to grow it in a complete tree which is always benefit the local community. A large number of the area participated in plantation drive and hailed efforts of SDFO Umar Nawaz and forest department for creating awareness among the people to now importance of these trees.
Responding to a question DFO Chitral said that illegal cutting of forest must be discouraged as well as plantation drive will also be started at Upper Chitral where there is lack of forest.
