PMK was expelled from the DMK front in Tamil Nadu.
The DMK leaders headed by the party president Mr.M.Karunanithi and his cabinet colleagues like K.Anbazagan, Arcot Veerasamy, Duraimurugan, Ponmudi, who met today at the DMK party headquarters ‘Anna Arivalayam’ in Chennai, finally decided in favour of expelling PMK from the DMK front.
The trouble brewed in the alliance and difference of opinion between PMK and DMK front crept in, when the PMK party functionary Mr.Guru, an Ex-MLA issued a controversial and highly inflammatory political statement against the DMK leaders. However, the PMK leader Dr.Ramadass tried to patch up the differences by assuaging the feelings of DMK leaders.
But the DMK leaders were not convinced since Mr.Guru has not withdrew his statements nor said sorry for what he had said against the DMK leaders..
Therefore, the relationship between PMK and the DMK front deteriorated further and in the end it culminated in the expulsion of PMK from the DMK front.
Consequent to the expulsion of PMK from the DMK front, a new polarization of alliances between political parties headed by DMK and the AIADMK may emerge in the near future, targeting the fortcoming Lok Sabah poll in the year 2009.
