Islamabad: Pakistan’s Supreme Court’s order on Wednesday deprived Mian Shehbaz Sharif from holding the office of the CM of Punjab, Pakistan’s most developed province & a political hub of the country. Shehbaz Sharif drived his vehicle himself to his estate in Raiwind in Lahore without any protocol after court order.
The court order also sets aside Mian Nawaz sharif to contest election on NA 123 & thus setting aside all petitions in the matter of Sharif brothers.
The government has dissolved the regional cabinet & has enforced the governor rule in the province & thus Salman Taseer has been entitled to take the powers of the CM.
The court order triggered a political war again between PPP & PML (N), the two conventional political rivals of Pakistan. Nawaz Sharif accused Zardari for instigating the verdict & attempting to throw him out of the politics.
While talking to media, Mian Nawaz Sharif told that this is not an attack on us but it is an attack on Pakistan & there are some elements that are bent upon destroying Pakistan.
Soon after the courts decision hundreds of violent protesters took to the streets, bunt tyres & blocked traffic and criticized Zardari for all this. Already activated lawyers called for rallies & announced two day boycott of the courts. The stock exchange of Pakistan lowered to horrible proportions suddenly amid this political turmoil.
Shehbaz Sharif was disqualified for charged of murders & defaulting of bank loans while Nawaz Sharif was barred from contesting the elections on the bases of hijacking case of 12, October 1999.
Political analysts are of the view that the country cannot afford this sort of political uncertainty at this time when the nuclear Muslim nation has waged a war against Taliban & Alqaeda & the court should have taken national reconciliation as a priority.
