Matrika Yadav, a politburo member of the Unified Communist Party of Nepal Maoist (UCPNM) on Wednesday publicly announced that he quit the party.
In a press conference held in Kathmandu, he accused the UCPNM of betrying the working class people by surrendering to foreign forces.
In the press conference, Yadav also made it public that he would gather frustrated leaders and activists from other parties to form another Maoist party.
He, however, did not provide full details regarding the formation of his new party.
The Sanghu weekly published on Monday stated that Matrika Yadav had been to India to seek help from some Indian parties and leaders for running his new party.
The mass media of Nepal had characterized Yadav as an ‘uncultured’ Maoist leader, who during his ministership in the government, showed his bullying nature.
