From now and until Election Day on November 4, we can expect many different polls to be launched in regards to the 2008 United States Presidential Election. There was already a poll launched by the CNN/Research Opinion Corporation in which six out of ten Americans feel that GOP Presidential nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona has unfairly attacked Democratic Presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois.
However, it seems that poll results have remained consistently in favor for Barack Obama in regards to swing states. A new poll by Politico/InsiderAdvantage shows that Obama continues to make gains in the crucial battleground states.
In this new poll, it shows that Obama has been making grounds in both Nevada and North Carolina. This is due to a shift in gains in some counties in both states.
So far, Obama has a ten-point lead over McCain in Washoe County, Nevada. It is a 50 to 40 percent lead.
Obama has a nine-point lead over McCain in Wake County, North Carolina.
These counties let alone states were won by current US President George W. Bush back in 2000 and 2004. Obama making grounds in both states can correlate with a TIME/CNN poll launched around October 7. According to the poll results back then, Obama has been making gains in states that Bush had won in both 2000 and 2004.
In regards to North Carolina, Bush won that one by a twelve-point lead.
Also it is obvious that Obama and McCain are heavily fighting it out in North Carolina.
Overall, the polls had shown Obama gaining grounds in the Bush states. As a result, it has forced McCain and his VP running-mate Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to play “defense.”
Instead of focusing on crucial swing states, the McCain campaign has been forced to defend GOP’s state strongholds.
While Obama is making grounds in both North Carolina and Nevada, it is going to be an all out battle between himself and McCain to win those two states on Election Day.
The poll results show that Obama is making ground in both states. While the US Presidential Election is only fourteen days away, anything CAN and WILL change at any given minute.
