Poll: ‘Obama Better Suited Than McCain to Handle Economy’

Recently, it seems that consistent poll results have been in favor of presumed Democratic nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois instead of presumed GOP nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona. However, it all depends on what polls you check out. But a recent poll of polls has shown both Obama and McCain are in a tight race with each other.

In a new poll result, Obama has the advantage over McCain in regards to the economy. So far, the economy remains the number one issue on the minds of the majority of voters. And yes, the issue of Iraq continues to play a distant second fiddle. While Iraq is the number two issue, it is at a distant second place.

So far, Iraq has been the main campaign platform for McCain’s candidacy.

50 percent said that Obama is better handled while 44 percent that McCain is better handled. There is a six-point difference between the two. However, it is still a majority. But the poll results could still change at any given time. This is the result of a recent CNN/Research Opinion Corporation poll.

Something could happen to change the statistics while I am typing this article. Still, the poll results may give McCain something to think about.

Last week, poll results show that economy maintained its position as the number one issue. 42 percent of registered voters felt the economy was more important than Iraq. Still, Iraq continues to play second string.

Of that 42 percent, 80 percent of those voters said that the economy was terrible.

But, this same poll shows that McCain is better suited than Obama to handle foreign policy. McCain’s foreign policy experience will become very valuable in the US Presidential race.

While the poll shows favor for Obama, it is not a clear victory. The poll results put Obama and McCain at a tie.
