Pollard Power kept Mumbai Indians semifinal hopes alive
Last night all of we witnessed the real use of power in between Mumbai Indians and Guyana. The Mumbai Indians are back with a bang. The Mumbai Indians beat Guyana by 31 runs in a crucial CLT20 match last night. After this second consecutive loss, Guyana is out of semifinal race. With this victory, Mumbai Indians kept their semifinal hopes alive. They need to beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by a huge margin in the next game and then keep an eye on the permutation and combination.
Earlier, Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat. Tendulkar and Dhawan added 82 runs for the first wicket. Dhawan made 39 off 37 balls, while Tendulkar scored 48 off 39 balls.It was the man Kieron Pollard, who propelled the Mumbai Indians’ innings. He scored magic 72 off 30 balls with one boundary and nine huge sixes. Mumbai Indians scored 184/4 in 20 overs. For Guyana, Devendra Bishoo took 3 wickets.Chasing a victory target of 185, Guyana put up a brave show this time, but fell short of the target by 31 runs. They finished at 153/6 in 20 overs. The skipper Sarwan was the top scorer with 46, while Deonarine made 27. Barnwell contributed 24. For Mumbai Indians, Bravo and Harbhajan took two wickets each.Kieron Pollard was declared "Man of the Match" for his power packed innings. Again Mumbai Indians fielders were sloppy on the field. The MI bowlers gave away 29 extra runs, including 17 wides and 8 byes,which still the cause of headache for Mumbai Indians.
