Poonch institutions closed on Sept 4, 5,high alert to tackle flood threat in Rajouri

Poonch/ Rajouri, September 04, (Scoop News)- In view of the flash floods in the district, Deputy Commissioner Poonch M.H Malik has ordered that all the educational institutions (government as well as private) shall remain closed on 4.9.2014 and 5.9.2014.

Following heavy rains in the District, Rajouri, District administration has issued flood warning asking people not to venture near the river.
Deputy Commissioner, Jitendra Kumar Singh said that the district administration has geared up its machinery to meet any eventuality and pointed out that civil defence, police, red cross and disaster management teams have been told to be well prepared to meet any emergency situation.
Jitendra said an emergency relief cell has been created in the DC office. He appealed to the people to call at telephone 01962262244 in view of flood threat or other emergency so that quick preventive action could be taken. A rescue team headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Salim Malik has also been constituted to ensure the safety of local people.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner has ordered that all the educational institutions, government and private would remain closed on Sept 4 and 5.
