US President-elect Barack Obama has his name registered in the US history. Change-seeking Americans voted him with some optimism.
Although his is the highest post in the US, he cannot decide everything on his own. Many definitions will bind him.
He will be at the center of the deep-rooted US policy framework. Being at the center of the deep-rooted US policy framework means that his job is to strengthen it. He has been educated and trained to strengthen the existing policy framework.
But his sympathy towards suffering African-Americans can somehow console them; as a result, they can develop their tolerance.
Moreover, Obama’s election as the new US president has the potential to activate the African-Americans psychologically.
Psychological activation of politically de-activated minds is something that change-seeking communities can derive from Obama success.
Vital to Americans’ security will be the mindset and approach Obama applies to South Asia, more recently feared to be the most dangerous military playground in the name of US-led anti-terrorism military actions with possibilities of US and NATO military experiments in the region.
Wise would be to understand that security is not the product of booming weapon business.
Easy presence of guns in American families has given them neither peace nor security.
Similarly, emphasizing on use of arms that have so far massacred millions of innocent civilians have multiplied terrorism while human sensitivity has waned terribly.
Trying to overshadow violence at home and concentrating on wars against other countries would be self-destructive ultimately.
So far, American leaders have been selling Osama bin Laden. Laden has become a good ruling tool for them. American citizens may have felt hypnotized by “anti-terrorism” wars because they hope to be secure. But examining the outcome of America-led wars throughout the world would not be irrelevant. It is mostly the concerned citizens who need to examine the outcome.
What the world waits for eagerly is what good or bad tactics US President-elect Barack Obama will adopt on Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, North Korea and China.
More emphatically, let there be no bloodbath in South Asia, a region different from the Middle East and Latin America.
