PPP proposes to impeach President Pervez

At last the Pakistan President Pervez Mushraf Kept up his promise he made to the people of Pakistan as well as the International Community that general elections in Pakistan would be held in Pakistan on February, 18 th, amidst some violence and bloodshed.

But it remains to be seen whether he would keep his promise that elections would be free from any political interference and devoid of rigging.

Meanwhile PPP headed by the erstwhile leader and late Mrs.Bhutto, now headed by her widower husband Asif Ali Zardari, is believed to have a majority in the National Assembly followed by the party headed by former premiere Mr.Nawaz Sheriff. President Pervez’s party is believed to fair poorly in the elections, provided that if everything goes right according to democratic norms.

Hoping to win a majority and capture power in Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, have issued a statement that his party if wins two-third majority in the National Assembly would initiate impeachment proceedings against the Pakistan President for all his anti-democratic activities like stifling the opposition, for removing the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan for his anti-government stance etc.

But PPP should wait till the outcome of the election results. After all Pakistan is not India.Once the results are out favouring PPP, the future course of action including the impeachment of Pervez etc can be decided.Till then, the idea of impeachment of the President seems to be premature, unwarranted and uncalled for.

First of all let the democratic flower blooms !
