ISLAMABAD, Jan 9:Spokesman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Senator Farhatullah Babar Tuesday said PPP would send its delegations abroad to seek international support for a UN probe into assassination of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto in Rawalpindi terrorist attack on December 27.
"PPP would soon be writing to foreign governments besides sending its delegations abroad to seek international assistance for a UN probe into the tragic death of Benazir Bhutto," he said in a statement issued here.
Criticizing the rejection of PPP’s demand for a UN probe, he said PPP would not give up its demand and continue to raise voice at all available forums.
The Senator said if the government did not approach the United Nations then PPP would formally urge the international body for probing Benazir’s assassination on coming into power.
He said that PPP had reservations over the ongoing investigations by Scotland Yard team as it had only been asked to probe the cause of death.
"The role of the Scotland Yard investigators had already been circumscribed as they have been told to work under Pakistani investigators," he said.
