PPPP Could not settled Candidate Issue

PPPP Chitral offers consensus  candidate

CHITRAL: Hopes rekindled amongst the workers of Pakistan Peoples Party Chitral when after nearly two months long deliberations and consultations, the PPPP Chitral, offered a consensus candidate to the party high command for consideration as a replacement to the present ticket allottee for the National Assembly constituency. Addressing a press conference at the Chitral press club, Thursday, District Naib Nazim Sultan Shah head of the reconciliation committee said that the district president of the party on instructions from the high command had formed a committee to select one out of the two aspirants of the ticket – Mohammad Hakim advocate who is the sitting Gen Secy and Wg Cdr (r) Fardad Ali Shah. He said that the committee consisted of the sixteen union council Nazims belonging to the PPPP. Both the candidates had also accepted its status pledging to abide by its decision.

He said that after long deliberations followed by interaction with party workers, the committee decided to offer Fardad Ali Shah as the consensus party candidate for the constituency. He said that a delegation of the party will call on the Chairperson Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, to apprise her of the decision of the workers. He said that the party workers have rejected  Ghulam Mohyuddin as their candidate as it would amount to giving a walk over to the PML(Q) candidate specially when the other main party the JI had boycotted the elections. He said that an unwise decision on the part of the party leadership in the nomination of candidate will render a sure triumphant position into an utter disaster for the party as has happened more than once in the past.

To a question about their chosen candidate being relatively new to the party he said that the family of Fardad Ali Shah had long association with the party in one form or the other and had invaluable services for Chitral to it’s credit and is thus held in high esteem by the party workers and general public.

The other aspiring candidate Muhammad Hakim Advocate has accepted the verdict of the committee in good spirit and assured full cooperation with the chosen candidate.
