Leh (Ladakh),January 12 (Scoop News) –The policy decision to introduce Nursery, LKG and UKG classes in all Government schools of Leh from 1st of March 2012 is a welcoming initiative of LAHDC, Leh to strengthening the education standard at primary level, therefore, the teachers who are receiving special training in latest concept of pre-primary education should work hard to achieve the desired goal.
This was stated by the Deputy Commissioner, Leh Tsering Angchok while inspecting different sections of the training process at DIET, Leh today where 310 ReT teachers currently receiving rigorous composite training.
The Councillor, Lingshet Constituency, Sonam Dorjey also accompanied the Deputy Commissioner during the inspection.
Interacting with the trainee’s teachers, the Deputy Commissioner said that the main objective of this special training course is to improve the teaching skill of the teachers by infusing new concept of pre-primary education; as such Angchok urged them to take utmost advantage of the training and play their role resourcefully and efficiently. He said that the Panchayats have been made active and accountable particularly for monitoring upon the functioning of all the Government institutions in their respective jurisdiction; therefore, the teachers should keep close coordination with the Panchayats and work collectively to ensure quality education in all Government schools along with increasing the enrolment. The Deputy Commissioner said that dedicated and sincere teachers would be suitably awarded on the bases of extra-ordinary performance.
Appreciating the endeavours of DIET, headed by Mrs. Konchok Angmo, Principal in imparting a quality as well as all round development training to the ReT teachers, the Deputy Commissioner said that building the capacity of teachers would go a long way to up-grade the teaching standard in Government schools. He urged to hold special lectures on Right to Information, Right to Education and Rights of Service Guarantee Act so that the perception and sensitivity of the teachers would become more clear and they would perform comparatively well.
The Principal DIET, Mrs. Konchok Angmo apprised the Deputy Commissioner, that all the 310 RET teachers who are attending the 30 days training course taking great deal of pain to learn and she was much hopeful that the training would surely mould the mindset of the teachers to a productive education system in Leh. She also briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the schedule of the training process and engagement of resource persons and experts.
The Deputy Chief Education Officer, Tsewang Dorje who was accompanying the Deputy Commissioner said that Education Department would submit a fund requirement proposal to the Deputy Commissioner for purchase of new text books of Nursery, LKG and UKG. He also requested the Deputy Commissioner to provide funds to meet the expenditure of the ongoing training course.
