ILead is a premier academy that has given a lot of importance to holistic and all round development of the students. That is why they have organized a European Film Festival in the ILead Auditorium on April 27 and 8th May.This festival showcases the distinct European heritage that is visible in India even today.
The European Film Festival paid a tribute to the legend, Michael Madhusudan Dutta who was immortalized in his the film titled In Search of M. The director of this film is Anirban Bhattacharjee and he has beautifully shown the life of the great maestro in this amazing masterpiece.
A Legend
Michael Madhusudan Dutta was a legend who is already immortalized in his literature. However, he did not get his due as some legends are overlooked. The film depicts the fact that some heroes are given laurels when they are alive and some others are awarded them posthumously.
However, the saddest part is that some of them are forgotten. Through his film In Search of M, Anirban Bhattacharjee has done his best to exemplify the fact that Michael Madhusudan Dutta deserves to be remembered for posterity.
A Nonfiction Documentary
Through the medium of a nonfiction documentary, the director has shown how important it is for us to preserve the European heritage in India and this is because of the wide variety of cultural amalgamations that have brought about the current composite culture of today.
This shows his tremendous love for the genre as well as his enthusiasm to get his message across to the people. This shows the wide variety of talent that is encompassed in its production. This film is such that it has a lot of history as well as biography that it enshrined in it. This makes it both a classic and a masterpiece at the same time.
Seven Stars Festival
All in all, the European Film Festival was a seven stars festival with a plethora of seven exciting films that were extremely informative and insightful. The inaugural films were Europe by the Ganges and The Gift that were shown on April 27.
The valedictory films were shown on 8th May and these included a rainbow of documentaries like the exquisite Portuguese Heritage in Goa that is directed by Nalini Sousa, Pigeons on the Gun directed by Amar Bhattacharya, In Search of M by Anirban Bhattacharjee and River Journals 1 & 2 that is produced by EMMRC.
This clearly enunciates the fact that the European Films Festival was a resounding success and charmed the audiences to the absolute brim.
