Preparations start for grand singing competition

Jammu, March 3 (Scoop News) – Jammu and Kashmir Police has started the preparations for conducting the State Level Grand Singing Competition ‘‘Choona Hai Asmaan’’. The competition will be held at an convenient time so that the exams of the students, who are participating in the competition does not effect. The performers are busy in refining their talent to make themselves able to bag the titles. This was disclosed by SSP Samba,  Israr Khan, who is also the Nodel Officer for the mega event.

In an attempt to inspire the youth of the State to take part in the cultural activities, the Jammu and Kashmir Police organized the singing talent hunt across the State.

In the first phase, the budding singers were identified from the far-flung and urban areas and a platform was provided to them at district level to excel their talent. Similarly, in the second phase, the performers selected from various districts of two provinces of the State competed in range level competitions held at different ranges of the State during January and February. For their entry into the State Level Competition, the singers were put to a talent test at Zone level competitions held at Srinagar and Jammu. After adjudging talented singers from the two provinces by the Jury members designated for the two provinces, State Level Competition will be organized soon to select best singers of the State.

Besides the department has decided to allow renowned singers who could not take part in the district level competition, This has been decided to improve the level of competition and to infuse a high degree of professionalism. Four wild card entries to each Zone viz Kashmir and Jammu will be given in the Master Category one each for male and female. The competition would have sixteen participants in all, who would try their luck for top slots of best male and female singers in three categories viz junior, senior and open. Interested singers to get wild card entry in the competition have been asked to approach Zone Headquarters of Kashmir and Jammu with their resumes.
