Anyone can complain about the current state of affairs in the nation, but it takes someone with initiative to do anything about it. As U.S. citizens it’s our responsibility to make our voices heard on a variety of issues that affect us. In order to do so, we need to get out and vote. Not sure what it requires? It’s easy.Familiarize yourself with the issues. An uninformed voter can’t necessarily make a difference when they don’t know what they’re voting for. Get to know what’s going on in your local government, state and nation and how it affects you so you can make an informed decision.
Register to vote. It sounds complicated but it’s just about the easiest thing you’ll ever have to do. Visit your local Secretary of State’s office and fill out a voter registration form. All you need is a valid ID. Better yet, register at your local polling location just before voting.
Determine your polling location. On election day, there will be polling places set up all across your area. Where you vote will depend on where you live. Find out in a local newspaper where you should be voting.
Get out and vote. It takes about 10 minutes out of your busy schedule
