The President of India, Pratibha Devisingh Patil in her message on the occasion of the festival of Holi, which falls on Saturday has said,“On the joyous occasion of Holi, I have great pleasure to extend my greetings and good wishes.
May this unique festival of colours, bring joy and happiness and foster the spirit of unity and harmony amongst our citizens.”
The Vice President of India M. Hamid Ansari has greeted the people on the occasion of Holi, the festival of colours. In his message he has said that Holi, is celebrated with joyous gaiety and this festival brings forth the tradition of reinforcing unity amidst diversity. It also marks the onset of spring. May this Festival fill our lives with happiness and promote national integration”
While greeting the people on the joyous occasion of Holi, the Governor of J&K , N. N. Vohra, has prayed that the festival of colours would foster harmony and peace and bring progress and prosperity in the State.
In his message of felicitations, the Governor observed that festivals are an important component of our rich cultural heritage which strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, love and amity. He expressed sincere hope that the coming Holi would spread happiness and joy all around and further promote harmony and brotherhood.
The Governor prayed for the well-being of the people of the State.
In a felicitation message on the eve of Holi, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has wished happiness and well being to the people.
The Chief Minister expressed the hope that the day would be harbinger for peace and development in the State.
The Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand has also greeted the people on the eve of Holi, the festival of colours and said that the day reminds us the victory of good over the evil.
In his felicitation message, Tara Chand said that this festival bridges the social gap and renews sweet relationship.
