Price Gouging Enough Is Enough

Price Gouging

How is this right? How is it Legal? Only 2 or 3 weeks ago the price was $1.29 per Litre and even that is way too high.

When are we the people going to standup for ourselves and put a halt to the unnecessary “Price Gouging” by Government, Manufacturers and businesses, big or small, and say “NO” no more of this and mean it?

When and where is it going to end? When are Torontonians going to standup for their rights and say enough, is enough, thus far and no further? What is it going to take for Ontarians, Torontonians especially to take a stand against unfair price gouging.

Today, April 17, 2014; the price for 1 Litre of “Regular Gasoline” at Toronto Gas Station hit an unbelievable $1.39.9 or, to round it up,  $1.40 per Litre.

What people don’t seem to understand, is that is $5.60 / Gallon of gas, assuming of course you are only using “Regular Gasoline because 1 Litre is (1/4) of a gallon.

If you have an 80 litre gas tank  which is equal to 20 gallons, as I do, it will now cost me,$112.00 to have a full gas tank. I know I cannot afford such a fill up, and I don’t know to many if any people that can afford such an expense.

I can remember back in the day, before we permitted the government to arbitrarily change our measuring system over to “Metric” I could fill my 20 gallon tank for $10.00, and as I previously stated that same tank will now cost me, $112.00.

An average loaf of bread today is about $2.60 per loaf. Back in the day, $.25 that’s 25 cents.

A pound of Ground Beef which is ½ a kilo is about $10.00 today. And you don’t even get your money’s worth because the remove all the fat making it “Extra Lean. Back in the day, you could buy 2 Kilo or 4 pounds for the same price as what you pay for ¼ the quantity and no quality at all. Today you will pay between $22-24 per pound or for half a Kilo of Strip-loin, and the quality stinks because they trim away all of the goodness and they give you an inferior quality of beef. How about a can of soup for about $1.99, average; Back not to long ago it was $.25 / tin. Go to a Fish and Chip restaurant, especially on Good Friday how about $22.00 for a single order of Halibut and Chips. Not to long ago toy could get (4) orders for the same price, but the price of Halibut went through the roof. So how about a tin of Sockeye Salmon, today’s special price is $3.99 per tin not to long ago though you’d get that same tin, for $1.99. Last but not least you want something sweet a dessert maybe like a dozen donuts, well you’ll probably pay about $6.00 for a dozen, when not to long ago you could get that same dozen for around $2.00.

Why are we so afraid to standup for ourselves and tell government as well as big business enough is enough, you can’t do that.
