Price hike runs amok in Chitral
CHITRAL: With the recent increase in fuel price in the country the price of almost every item in the market has taken a quantum leap in Chitral. The transport fares were promptly increased by the Union and hoarders and profiteers immediately added price to their already in stock items which have nothing to do with the present price hike (for the moment at least). Items such as hardware, motor spare parts, building materials etc have always been villains which fleece those who fall into their demand trap, but at this time the prices of these items are out of proportions. Where it is difficult for the government to keep a check on the price of each and every item, the government can work towards providing a decent road facility which would promote free economy where the price hike could be corrected by itself through open and fair competition.
