Progress Made In 62 Crucial Infrastructure Projects
New Delhi (PIB-GR-TYP-BIN): The Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi reviewed the progress of works across various infrastructure sectors on November 9.
The Prime Minister was informed that good progress is being made in 62 crucial infrastructure projects that have been reviewed so far over 7 meetings of PRAGATI.
The Prime Minister was apprised of the progress towards meeting the Union Government’s commitment of providing electricity to all unconnected villages in the country within 1000 days.
In telecommunication, the Prime Minister was briefed about the progress towards connecting all villages through broadband by 2022.
The Prime Minister reviewed the progress in sectors such as renewable energy, piped natural gas, irrigation, roads and railways. He was also informed about the skill development initiatives taken by various infrastructure Ministries including Railways, Skill Development, Coal, New and Renewable Energy, Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Shipping.
The Prime Minister was informed that all infrastructure targets for the current financial year, across various sectors, are broadly on track to be achieved.
Mr. Arvind Panagariya, Vice Chairman NITI Aayog, was present at the meeting. Senior officials from PMO, NITI Aayog, and concerned Ministries were also present.
