Just when we thought New Jersey couldn’t get any fatter, we learned of Princess Chunk, a stray cat that weighs in at a hefty 44 pounds.
Princess Chunk is only slightly slimmer than the heaviest tabby ever recorded, an Australian feline that topped the scales at 46 pounds, 15 ounces.
Princess Chunk was found in Voorhees, NJ without a collar, but it’s hard to believe that she could have reached 44 pounds without a human providing food and a safe place for her to do nothing.
The cat is currently being held at Camden County Animal Shelter where the owner has until Saturday to reclaim her. If nobody has come to take the 44 pound cat by then, Princess Chunk will be put up for adoption. Until Princess Chunk logs some serious hours on a kitty treadmill, however, the chances that any family would want her are slim.
