66 year-old Priscilla Lord Faris announced that she will contest Al Franken in his efforts to become a U.S. Senator from Minnesota. The two will run against each other in a Democratic Primary in September.
Priscilla Lord Faris has a long career in politics although she has never run for office herself. She is a lawyer and a founding member of the firm Faris and Faris. She is the daughter of former Minnesota Attorney General and Federal Court Judge Miles Lord.
Priscilla Lord Faris has supported fellow Democrat Al Franken in the past but is not sure he can win over incumbent Norm Coleman (R). She said that a democratic campaign will sharpen the Democrats efforts to take down Coleman in November.
